Coach George Perdue has been coaching diving since 1990. Starting as a young developing coach apprentice at York dive club in Alexandria, Virginia, he was mentored in effective use of belt spotting youth divers. In 1996, George served as the head coach for a new team in Invercargill, New Zealand where a new pool was built and no program previously existed. After two years, he returned to the United States for a short stint in Largo, Florida as Head Coach of Lightning Diving. In 2000, George joined Longhorn Aquatics in Austin, Texas where he coached until 2009. At that time, he moved back to Virginia to start a family. Over the next 12 summers, he coached the Hayfield Farms neighborhood dive club from division seven (of eight divisions) and rose to division two at the time of his departure in 2021. Balancing family and coaching he worked intermittently with Dominion Dive Club and Alexandria Dive club over the years, specializing in belt spotting. George has been an instrumental coach of divers who have qualified for USA Olympic Trials in 2012, 2016, 2020/2021.

George’s expertise has produced divers on every club team who qualified for Summer National Championships (USA Diving, AAU, or New Zealand). Divers under George have competed in colleges such as The University of Texas, Miami, LSU, USC, Auburn and more.

While experiencing success at high levels, George realizes the foundation of the sport starts with developing beginner divers. He strives to provide quality instruction and support for all ability levels. Creating a positive learning environment where success is relative to the individual’s skill level and developmental potential.

In 2010, George married Tara and together they have a son, Stone and a daughter, Quinnlyn. The family moved to the Portland area in November of 2021 and love all Oregon has to offer.
